Sargodha Development Authority, Sargodha was constituted under Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 as a successor body to Sargodha Improvement Trust (2017) in 2017.
Sargodha Development Authority (SDA) is a body responsible for undertaking and monitoring planned developments in the city of Sargodha, in Punjab, Pakistan. The body acts as a regulatory authority for overseeing the construction of houses, commercial developments and residential areas in the city. The office of the Sargodha Development Authority is situated on the H/No. 15 Canal Colony District Court Road Sargodha.
Governing Body
The Government may establish an Authority for the city (Sargodha) to which this Act has been applied/ declared under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976 (XI of 1976). The composition of the authority/body is as under:
The Authority shall consist of the Chairman who shall be the Chief Minister or any other person nominated by him, and the following members: -
a) Three members, including one-woman member, of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab to be nominated by the Government.
b) Mayor
c) Chairman Planning and Development Board or his representative not below the rank of Additional Secretary.
d) Secretary to Government, Finance Department or his representative not below the rank of Additional Secretary.
e) Secretary to Government, Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department or his representative not below the rank of Additional Secretary.
f) Secretary to Government, Local Government and Community Development Department or his representative not below the rank of Additional Secretary.
g) Commissioner.
h) Deputy Commissioner.
i) Director General.
j) All Managing Directors.
k) Two technical experts to be nominated by the Government.
i The Government may, by notification, alter, increase or decrease the membership of the Authority.
ii. No act or proceedings of the Authority shall be invalid merely by reason of any vacancy in, or defect in, the constitution of the Authority.
iii. The Government may designate one or more members of the Authority as Vice Chairman.
iv. A Vice Chairman shall perform such functions as may be assigned to him by the Authority

Sargodha is 12th largest city by population, divisional head quarter of Sargodha Division. It is popularly known as the city of Eagles and known for its best quality knows (Citrus) known as California of Pakistan. Sargodha is particularly famous for its high-quality Kinnow production, which is exported to many countries around the world. Sargodha is basically an agricultural city, moreover, agric-based industry is also present in the vicinity of Sargodha City.
The total area of Sargodha District is 5,864 sq km while the area controlled by the Sargodha Development Authority (SDA) is 1,235 square kilometers).
The Sargodha district is surrounded on the North and West by Chiniot and Khushab, Mianwali districts respectively. In the East it touches Jhang and in the South it touches Bhakkar District. The district spreads over an area of 5,864 Square kilometers comprising of seven Tehsils.
The climate of the district touches two extremes. The maximum temperature in summer reaches up to 48°C (118°F) during the months of June and July. the maximum temperature in winter can reach up to 20.7°C (69.3°F) in December, while the minimum temperature can drop to around 6.6°C (43.9°F) ¹. However, in January, the coldest month, the average temperature is around 11.9°C (53.4°F), with a minimum of 5.3°C (41.6°F) and a maximum of 18.5°C (65.2°F) ¹. In extreme cases, the temperature can even drop to around 1°C (33.5°F) on the coldest nights.
The soil is fertile but some areas are affected by salinity and water logging. Sargodha is a major agricultural district in Punjab, Pakistan
